Orange Ave, centers around how landscape painting can communicate ideas and emotions, akin to a visual poem. The painting explores the evanescent nature of memory as the details and the logic of the space begin to lose their gravity. The drips of paint become just as important to the work as the fading tree and mountains that tie it to a real space. The limited color palette of blues and grays reverberates that the painting is a transcription of a memory. The fleeting relationship we have with memory is underscored by the use of the thin transparent paint and fragility of the pastel lines.
